The New Name For TEDA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Application Guidelines

Admissions Overview

Thank you for your interest in TEDA International School. We offer an English-medium, American-style college-preparatory education to students from age 2 years, 9 months through grade 12. We admit families who fully support the school’s vision, mission, and philosophy, who are seeking a well-rounded international education for their child, and who meet the eligibility and admissions criteria.

Eligibility

Our school enrolls children between the ages of 2 years, 9 months and 18 years and who hold a passport from outside of Mainland China. Students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are eligible for admission. Priority is assigned to returning students and siblings of currently enrolled students.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions is selective and seeks to ensure an appropriate match between the prospective student and the School. Admissions decisions are based on several criteria, including:

  • Child's age and birthdate
  • Developmental readiness
  • Previous school academic and social success
  • English language proficiency
  • Confidential recommendation forms
  • Admissions test scores
  • Family interview results
  • Any specialized learning or developmental needs
  • Current grade level capacity

TIS does not discriminate nor make admissions decisions on the basis of race, color, gender, religion or national or ethnic origin (except as required by law).

Additional Needs

Applicants with mild developmental, learning, emotional or physical disabilities may be admitted based on available support and program capacity.

Applicants who lack proficiency in the English language may be admitted based on grade level and available support. No language support is available at the high school level.

Application Process

Our admissions period is rolling; families may apply at any time. A complete application and admissions file are required before an offer of admission can be made. For admissions during the school year, start dates may vary depending on grade level and program needs. Students transferring in during the school year must have maintained continuous enrollment at a school in another region or country for that school year.

We invite you to contact our admissions team to schedule a visit or to ask any questions. They can be reached by email or by phone (+86-22-6622-6297).
